new account rocks and bro wins $20k gtd

Firstly as Tom has closed his blog down, due to tossers hurling abuse, id like to say a massive well done to him who, after taking control of the computer for the entire weekend, on the first to wake up gets it rule, he won the $20k gtd on saturday night i sat with him for the last hour and a half and i have to say he played some stunning poker! the most enjoyable part was to see him chip counted 3:1 heads up and after doubling on a set of 3's completely dominated and had (midnight) eating out of the palm of his hand, credit to midnight though, he is a very strong and talented player, but Tommy was just buzzing. well done again........and thank you for the £1k ;)

Secondly although i havent played for 2 days my new 'secret' account has been flying and earning me a healthy amount of money, it was set up initially as a bit of fun to throw £100 or so around with no-one knowing who i am, however i have managed to turn that fun £100 into more than £1,000.00 in less than 48 hours, so i will play the remainder of this week on Eyesight for the tlb top 50 spot and then have a go at making some more moves with my new account, anyone know who it is yet???

4th NTX thurs, 2nd in 2 1.5k's fri as well as winning the DEEPSTACK and 2nd in the $2500 gtd but do you remember who she was??? she only played 7 tourneys so far................................but she will return.

New account

My sexy new account has just played her 1st event and made the final table at her first go, although she eventually lost from short stacked and came 6th......................... but who is she????

One move wonders!!

Dont you just hate people who play by the 'ALL-IN' or fold routine? my personal way of combatting this utterly talentless way of playing is to be very very patient, wait until you can catch them in the act and most of the time you will get paid.

Last night in the NTX £2k gtd the final tables all in merchant was someone i know quite well (chriss005) normally a very steady and talented player was being a complete tool, so i sat back with my finger on the fold button and played the waiting game.
Eventually with 4 players remaining, everyone on roughly 40,000 chips, i find AK and our table joker once again makes his only move, this time i call (surely he knew he would eventually get caught out?) and he reveals k3, in my opinion the maths are simple, IF I HOLD I WIN THE TOURNEY, needles to say the board deals him a flush!!! and im left with a poxy £159.00 for my 3 hours work. ah well, you cant win them all! :<

Does anyone disagree with my opinion of the 'ALL-IN' or 'FOLD' style play?? I would love to hear your thoughts.

GL.
Jimmy.

player kindness

I must say, not knowing whether its just a coincidence or not that Tom no-longer plays my account, that I have experiecned some amazingly friendly people and comments at the tables the last few days and it feels much nicer than the constant tirade of abuse that is usually hurled my way, So thank you to those people for your encouragement and thank you for recognising that im not a nasty person in any way shape or form, I am still considering changing accounts to escape the tag that, although fading, still seems to be carried on my present account, a new one has been set up and you can all have fun trying to find her, I guess my blog reports will help, P.S you will like her pic, she is gorgeous!!!!!!!!

I feel it is just as important to report to you all my bad days, as well as good, so i confess that with the exception of a few STT wins my last 2 days have been pretty dry with a combination of bubbles and early exits from MTT's I did, however, just finish 4th in a £1.5k gtd (£150.00) so hopefully I can enter another patch of wins.

GL at the tables and see you all soon,
Jimmy.

Saturday night

After being at the girlfriends, listening to her whinging all night, I decided to treat myself to an entry to the Insomniacs tourney, which usually attracts some of crypto's better players, Tom has recently broken his laptop and so was on the desktop computer on the final table of the $4500 gtd (he finished 2nd, $900) so for the first hour of the insomniacs i had to play blind with the aid of my stand in Adam 'The Aceman' Jackson and my mobile phone.

At the start of the second period we had managed to keep me in contention and I soon started shifting through the gears, taking a combination of small and medium sized pots until i found KK on the BB, CUTEMOFO raises to 300 from early position, so i re-raise to 550 trying to entice another re-raise or at least a call, he does call and to my horror the flop is xAA, ''oh poo'' fortunately it becomes apparent very quickly that he is not carrying and i end up walking away with a nice 2k pot just before FT.

4 left and my stack is tiny, so I set about staying alive to try and out-survive the other short stack, as only 3 places get paid, He soon doubles and leaves me no choice but to become aggresive again, which I managed to do very well.
After around 40 mins of a period i called 'stayin alive' I eventually knock the other SS out on AQ vs his A6

Around 15 mins later i find myself heads up with an on form SUN_DESHI who's performance with a large stack throughout most of the tourney was played to perfection and as I was chip counted 4/1 it never looked like taking long. I did manage to double on 66 vs 22 but when i decided to gamble on QT to try levelling things up he eventually got the better of me, although i am happy with my prize of $630.00

Also this afternoon, as well as the TLB freeroll and a few others i managed a 5th in a 1.5k gtd (£120.00) and a cash in the $2500 gtd although my QK was no match for JJ

All in all a good days work, no tournament wins, but a couple of 2nd spots and some nice cashes

I wont be playing sunday, but good luck to all that do,
Jimmy.

Sunpoker TLB freeroll july $5k gtd

The sunpoker tournament leaderboard freeroll $5k gtd was held today for the top 30 players from last month, After some very steady play and a few nice reads i found myself in a decent position on the final table, some very strong players were left, as i guess you would expect, and I ended in 2nd place scooping another $1,000 well done to my mate CUTEMOFO who placed 1st and also a big shout to Matt2059 who showed some very solid play and far deserved to be heads up over me, This guy has some serious potential and I would like to be among the first to wish him all the best.

See you at the tables, GL,
Jimmy.

$5k GTD tournament 23:00 gmt

Thought it may be worth a mention, I just finished the $5k gtd and from 210 runners i placed 3rd picking up $525.00 the reason i thought this may be worth a mention is that this is only the second time I have played this tournament this week, the other was on tuesday when i placed 2nd from 234 runners scooping $1100.00............I might have to play it again tomorrow!

poccer

The second poccer tournament organised by the legendry Clinton (ClintonO) Orchard and his sizzling wife Rachel were held on 04/08/07 once again in Birmingham at the goals soccer centre and Broadway casino, Our team, having managed to strike a sponsorship deal with the kind people at Sunpoker.com, had changed name to 'Team Sunpoker' with a few new signings:

Jimmy Cairns (Eyesight:)
Tom Cairns (Eyesight)
Jonny McCann (Onny87)
Andy Reynolds (007apr/JERI)
Matt Lewis (CUTEMOFO)
Ben Scott (BenScott)

As expected the mornings football part of the event was not one to shout about as we placed 11th out of the 11 teams in the competition despite winning our second match against the SS banana dwarves 6-3 who went on to be runners up in the football!!!

So, to the poker, We started on the lowest possible chip stack (3,000) and the winners of the footy starting on (9,000) So it was always going to be an uphill struggle! first out (and first out of the event) was one of my biggest hopes to do well, Andy Reynolds after turning a house and increasing his small stack by 50% in the first hand he was out and at the bar a few hands later when one of the footballing fishes could not put down his gutshot draw and eventually spiked his J on the river, so with 5 players left we did very well to all make the first break, no-one having made any significant stack increases, however shortly after the break Ben scott won a race (he duly celebrated with a small victory dance on his seat) and my A10 held on a 10 high flop against j 10, who had a flush draw after flop, Tom was out shortly after when he lost a flip to a guy on a flush draw and was disappointed to not be able to improve on his 4th place from last time, 3rd period now and our next faller was Jonny McCann who was allowed to see a board of AT86 a guy pushed him all in and Jonny obviously instacalled, only to see the cruel river card reveal another 8 when his aggresor is holding AK!! Shortly before the 3rd period ended Matt pushes his AK and is called by his tables 'station' on j6 who goes on to turn a 6.

20 players remain and we still have 2 left, Myself and Ben Scott,
Im not entirely sure what Ben eventually lost on, but judging from his lack of moaning, it wasnt one to gripe about.
shortly before the final table i was fortunate enough to catch a river against Luke (berbatov) Guest, who incidently won £52,000 the very next day, so congratulations to you mate!! his luck was defo in even on sat when on A4 he saw a flop of 444 lol.
Going into the final table i had built quite a healthy stack (around 40k) and was on around 35,000 when i found AK hearts on sb 1200/2400 mr 'at it' raises to 7,500 so i say nothing and simply push my stack into the middle.....The dweeb next to me who couldnt bring himself to fold a blind all night stared at his cards before eventually declaring ''call'' wtf im thinking, initial raiser folded, as i expected him to do to my raise, however the dweeb had called a raise and re-raise all in put his 30,000 stack in on 9 10!!! Tom is jumping up and down laughing, however im not so entusiastic as thats one of the last hands i want to race with ak! he flop a 10 and rivers a 9 leaving me with 5k im un-impressed, especially as he goes on to take the trophy, i managed to double before my kj d eventually lost to j7 on a straight! i think i finished 7th and was incredibly disappointed not to take the title as i felt in control of most tables i was on and quickly gained respect from most players apart from 1 or 2 of the donks who were non poker players!

Team Sunpoker eventually finished in 5th place from 11 after losing football so badly which was an amazing achievement and my boys did very well, i hasten to add we were not a million miles off of first spot (points wise) a great day was had by all and was a very well run tourney once again so thank you again to Clinton and Rachel and also to sunpoker.com

p.s thank you Whitedog for your help getting my wasp sting out! ;) your my knight in shining armour! lol.

Gl all, Jimmy.

Introduction

Hi,

My name is Jimmy Cairns, although i guess 99.9% of people know me as 'The less stressy Eyesight brother' Im 22 years old and am a self employed loft converter, and play 8ball pool for the Oxfordshire county 'A' team and was a runner-up at the national finals in selsey 2007

I first got into poker playing silly £5 and £10 friendly games at my local snooker club, it didn't take long for the bug to bite me and i became more involved with my 20 year old brother Tom (he would have been 18 and me 20 at the time) Tom was already heavily involved in the world of poker and i decided to sit behind him and learn more about the game, He spent the best part of a year teaching me many of the ins and outs of the game, most of the time i spent watching and taking mental notes, we soon started playing together, occasionally Tom trusted me to play his account on my own and eventually i set my own up (eyesight2) I always remember wandering how an 18 year old boy knew so much and was so good at the game, Tom was an excellent tutor and incredible player, We both acknowledge and accept that we are still very young and both have a LOT to learn, But putting my neck on the board I believe despite Tom's hot headedness and unpredictable mood swings, we are among the best young players/new-comers around?

After a few months playing as eyesight2 i was doing fairly well but decided to make a new account which i still often use (Eyesight:) i changed purely for the reason that i'd forgotten to put a capital 'E' in eyesight2 lol. on the first day of its use 26th feb 2007 i put £150 into the account and qualified for, what was then, the £12k gtd i placed 4th winning £914.00 and have since spun that into more than £15k plus a CPC'07 lite package.
I know its not mega bucks yet, but im getting better with every game played and enjoying every second!

As I embark on my 'poker career' lol id like to say a few quick thank you's:

Firstly Tom, thank you for being patient and helping me grasp a better knowledge of the game, your a great player, a brilliant tutor an amazing best friend and the most incredible brother ever!.......................................just chill out!!!!!! lol

people such as Mihay Manole, Clinton Orchard, Jonny McCann, Afzal Hussain, Dave Duncan etc etc the list goes on, thank you for all the chats, hints, tips, critisisms and general friendlyness, it doesnt go un-noticed

Adam (sunpoker) thanks for looking after us! lol.

will post first post about saturdays poccer results soon......................

bye for now, Jimmy.
